Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Network Engineer to join our client's European IT team.

The candidate will have extensive experience in as many environments as possible from below:

• Experience in managing LAN and WAN networks
• Expertise with Windows, Linux, and AS400 operating systems
• Proficiency in cloud solutions, specifically Azure, and expertise in managing Checkpoint and FortiGate firewalls are essential

Network Management:

• Design, implement, and maintain LAN and WAN networks.
• Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, ensuring high levels of performance, security, and availability.

System Administration:

• Manage and support Windows, Linux, and AS400 operating systems.
• Perform system upgrades, installations, and configurations.
• Implement and manage virtualized environments.
• Ms Office365 tenant administration, including Teams, Exchange, SharePoint, global tenant settings, etc.
• VmWare virtual environment administration.
• Backup supervision (Veritas BackupExec and Veeam)

Cloud Management:

• Design, deploy, and manage Azure cloud services.
• Ensure seamless integration and operation of cloud solutions with on-premises infrastructure.

Security Management:

• Configure, manage, and maintain Checkpoint and Fortigate firewalls.
• Implement and monitor security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits.

Leadership and Management:

• Demonstrate strong management capabilities, leading teams effectively to achieve operational goals.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior staff and ensure adherence to best practices and company policies.

Help Desk Coordination:

• Oversee the help desk services, ensuring timely and effective support to end-users.
• Develop and implement help desk policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior System Administrator, Infrastructure Engineer, Network Engineer or a similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of LAN, WAN, and network management.
• Expertise in Windows, Linux, and AS400 operating systems.
• Proven experience with Azure cloud services and data center management.
• Strong knowledge of Checkpoint and Fortigate firewall management.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• English and Spanish at a professional level; French would be a plus.
