Role Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated knowledgeable and efficient individual to oversee all legal aspects of our business. The legal workload is predominantly contract and data privacy for our global business however workload can touch any area of law relevant to our company. You will act as the single point of contact for legal matters internally and be responsible for the efficient utilisation of any third party legal expertise. Success in this role will result in a legal workload that is handled swiftly with improved outcomes and a lower total cost of ownership.

Your responsibilities
Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer you will be responsible for owning the legal touchpoints for the business and for applying your time most efficiently to meet that need. You will:
- Review the legal landscape for our business and develop communicate implement and own an effective support model for our legal workload educating and supporting anyone touching that workload;
- Develop expertise and understanding of relevant SaleCycle products and build strong relationships with business stakeholders in our offices in the UK and Paris with remote colleagues based in APAC.
- Support key business stakeholders in relation to the negotiation of all commercial contract matters including customer supplier and partner agreements as well as maintaining relevant precedents;
- Be the Company Data Protection Officer with an understanding of the relevant current and future Data Compliance legislation in key geographies communicating it effectively to relevant business stakeholders and supporting implementation of compliance processes and systems where appropriate;
- Support the business to ensure our client contracts and our insurance dovetail and ensure we operate within the rules and confines of our insurance;
- Identify and implement proactive legal solutions that minimise legal risks across the business; and
- Be the focal point for all other legal queries resolving them with support from external law firms if required.

- Able to ensure that a workload of varying legal complexity is handled by the appropriate resource within the business;
- Diligent proactive and able to demonstrate excellent legal and business judgement and strategic thinking;
- Able to selfmanage learning to stay abreast of relevant legislation and to maintain knowledge and skills;
- Flexible in terms of changing priorities across our global business and occasional priorities that arise out of normal hours;
- Able to educate teams and individuals as appropriate to enable them to handle appropriate legal queries;
- Display maturity and understanding of the challenges faced by how a small to medium business works.
Your Professional Skills
Minimum Qualifications
- A qualified solicitor with at least 3 or more years experience; and
- Strong contract negotiating and drafting skills and commercial acumen.
- Data protection experience with a specific focus on technology and marketing being desirable.
Preferred experience
- Providing and overseeing legal support for different global jurisdictions;
- Working in an inhouse environment;
- Working for a marketing or data company;
- Working in or with a small to medium growing business

Location Requirements
The successful candidate will be North East based and willbe required to work from our Gateshead office at least two days per week.
