Job Description
education counselor also known as a school counselor helps students with their academic personal and social needs. Their responsibilities include:
Academic support
Helping students with course selection timetables and scheduling. They may also tutor students or meet with them in groups or individually.
Career guidance
Helping students with career exploration job search strategies and resume preparation. They may also help students with financial aid and scholarship applications.
Mental health support
Helping students develop coping strategies to manage stress and anxiety. They may also refer students to psychologists or other mental health resources.
Transitioning to college
Helping students transition from high school to college including advising on the application process and financial aid options.
Assessments
Conducting assessments to understand students strengths weaknesses and educational needs.
Workshops
Organizing workshops and information sessions on educational pathways and opportunities.
