On behalf of a client we are recruiting for a Construction Project Manager.
Role Overview:
The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the timely and budgetcompliant completion of all projects. This role requires the ability to identify communicate and resolve any issues that could affect the safe and timely delivery of projects. The Project Manager will also need to communicate effectively with senior levels within the organisation and client organisations.
Key Functions & Results Areas:
- Ensure adequate labor and materials are available onsite for all projects and that all personnel comply with Health & Safety regulations.
- Procure materials within budget constraints ensuring timely delivery in line with the project schedule.
- Ensure necessary plant and equipment are onsite as needed compliant with Health & Safety standards.
- Ensure work is carried out according to approved drawings and specifications.
- Develop and implement site Inspection and Test Plans to maintain quality throughout installation.
- Create and update sitespecific risk assessments and method statements as required.
- Provide weekly progress reports comparing planned vs. actual progress including location and dated photographs.
- Chair and attend weekly internal project meetings.
- Participate in external project meetings with clients and design teams and ensure meeting minutes are recorded and filed appropriately.
- Collaborate with senior management and review the Bill of Quantities to understand the project from a commercial perspective.
- Report monthly on material plant and labor costs against budgets.
- Notify senior management and project quantity surveyors of any project variations to facilitate programming and pricing.
- Remeasure completed work as needed and submit reports to the project team.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely and compliant delivery of materials.
- Maintain positive relationships with operatives and contractors/clients.
- Ensure all site work adheres to safe working practices and current Health & Safety legislation. Promote vigilance among site personnel regarding hazards and mitigate risks.
- Represent the company professionally at all levels and ensure similar conduct from subcontractors and supervisors.
- Perform other reasonable duties as required by management or appointed consultants.
- Be prepared for occasional travel and irregular working hours.
Person Specification:
- A degree in a constructionrelated field or equivalent; construction science or engineering preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in a project management role within the roofing/cladding sector. Ability to interpret drawing specifications for roofing projects.
- Knowledge of roofing construction methods practices and safety requirements.
- Strong communication supervision and managerial skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications including Excel Word PowerPoint and Outlook. Knowledge of Microsoft Project is advantageous.
- Excellent IT and organizational skills.
- Strong team player.
- Valid drivers license.
