Job Description

Job Summary:

The Labor Compliance Officer will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with all labor laws policies and regulations on construction sites. This role involves monitoring contractor and subcontractor practices conducting audits and providing guidance to ensure that all project activities adhere to local state and federal labor laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor construction sites to ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations including wage and hour laws safety standards and employment practices.
  • Conduct regular audits of payroll records timekeeping systems and employment practices to ensure adherence to prevailing wage requirements and other labor standards.
  • Investigate complaints of noncompliance or violations and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide training and guidance to contractors subcontractors and employees on labor compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers HR and legal teams to develop and implement labor compliance strategies and procedures.
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports on compliance status violations and corrective actions to management and relevant regulatory agencies.
  • Stay updated on changes to labor laws regulations and industry standards and communicate these changes to relevant stakeholders.
  • Represent the company in meetings with regulatory agencies clients and other stakeholders related to labor compliance issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration Law or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in labor compliance human resources or a related role preferably in the construction industry.
  • Indepth knowledge of federal state and local labor laws including the DavisBacon Act OSHA regulations and prevailing wage laws.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train and advise diverse teams.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with compliance software or databases is a plus.
