Job Description
Overview
Key responsibilities
- Install and configure software hardware and networks
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues
- Ensure security and efficiency of IT infrastructure
- Create and maintain documentation
- Manage user accounts and permissions
- Upgrade systems with new releases and models
- Develop scripts for automating routine tasks
- Perform regular backup operations
- Conduct regular system audits
- Provide technical support
- Assist in the implementation of cybersecurity measures
- Collaborate with other IT staff
- Conduct research on emerging technologies
- Participate in oncall rotation for afterhours support
- Contribute to disaster recovery planning
Required qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field
- Proven work experience as a System Administrator
- Strong knowledge of systems and networking software hardware and networking protocols
- Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g. VMware HyperV)
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g. PowerShell Bash)
- Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
- Experience with databases web servers and cloud technologies
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity best practices
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware software and network problems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive mindset and ability to work independently
- Relevant certifications (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) CompTIA Server)
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and problemsolving capabilities
