Position Title: FCC Control Room Engineer
Location: Mundra
Department: Operations

Job Summary:

The FCC (Fluid Catalytic Cracking) Control Room Engineer is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of the FCC unit from the control room. This role involves monitoring and controlling the process parameters troubleshooting and ensuring compliance with safety environmental and operational standards. The engineer will work closely with the operations team to optimize unit performance and maintain production targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and Control Operations:

    • Operate the FCC unit via Distributed Control System (DCS) to ensure optimal performance.
    • Monitor process variables trends and alarms to maintain safe and efficient operation.
    • Adjust process parameters as necessary to meet production and quality targets.
  • Safety and Compliance:

    • Ensure all operations are conducted in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
    • Participate in safety drills and implement emergency response procedures when required.
    • Identify and mitigate risks to personnel and equipment safety.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:

    • Diagnose and resolve operational issues to minimize downtime and maintain production levels.
    • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to address equipment malfunctions or inefficiencies.
    • Conduct root cause analysis for any significant incidents or process upsets.
  • Optimization and Continuous Improvement:

    • Analyze operational data to identify opportunities for process optimization.
    • Recommend and implement improvements to enhance unit efficiency and reliability.
    • Participate in unit performance reviews and contribute to longterm planning.
  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate logs of unit operations including shift handover notes production reports and incident records.
    • Prepare and submit daily weekly and monthly reports on unit performance and any issues encountered.
    • Ensure all documentation is uptodate and compliant with regulatory and company standards.
  • Team Collaboration:

    • Work closely with the operations maintenance and engineering teams to ensure smooth coordination of activities.
    • Provide guidance and support to field operators and other team members as needed.
    • Participate in shift handovers meetings and training sessions to stay informed and aligned with team goals.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
    • Relevant certifications in process control or operations management are a plus.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 35 years of experience in FCC operations with at least 2 years in a control room environment.
    • Strong knowledge of FCC process principles equipment and safety standards.
  • Skills:

    • Proficiency in using Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and other process control technologies.
    • Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
    • Strong communication skills both verbal and written to effectively interact with team members and management.
    • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with a focus on safety and operational excellence.
