Job Description
As a Network System Admin you will:
- Design and deploy company LANs WANs and wireless networks including routers switches UPSs and other hardware in accordance with industry standards.
- Configure networks to ensure smooth and reliable operation aligning with business objectives and architectural guidance.
- Collaborate with project teams during the discovery phase to ensure network designs meet business needs while minimizing operational risks.
- Work with low voltage cabling companies and facilities teams to design cabling infrastructure IT room layouts power cooling and access control.
- Coordinate with vendors on circuit and hardware procurement ensuring all network infrastructure is built tested and handed over smoothly.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation related to network configuration mapping processes and service records.
- Ensure seamless handover to Network Integration and Operations teams including providing network diagrams documentation monitoring setups and configuration backups.
- Adhere to ITIL best practices for Change Incident Capacity and Problem management to maintain network reliability.
- Resolve highimpact network issues promptly by working closely with the Network Operations team.
What You Bring to the Table:
- 810 years of experience in designing and implementing Cisco LAN WAN WLAN (Meraki) and Palo Alto Firewalls based on standardized architecture.
- Current professional certifications such as Cisco CCNP or PCNSE with ITIL v3 foundation or higher qualifications being desirable.
- Applied technical knowledge of current network hardware protocols and Internet technologies.
- Extensive experience in data cabling including Cat5 Cat6 singlemode and multimode fiber as well as knowledge of dark fiber connectivity device installation and rack layout.
- Experience with network device power ratings redundancy planning and backup strategies.
- Knowledge of installation and monitoring of Uninterrupted Power Supplies (UPS) backup generators and battery runtime.
- Proficiency in working with SFP QSFP optical modules and familiarity with different types of UPS vendors and thirdparty monitoring tools.
- Experience in working with building facility management systems and creating Bill of Materials (BOM) for network devices including cables and optics.
You should possess the ability to:
- Design and deploy robust network infrastructures ensuring they meet business and technical requirements.
- Manage and oversee the full lifecycle of network projects from planning and procurement to deployment and handover.
- Collaborate effectively with vendors project teams and facility management to ensure successful project delivery.
- Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Apply ITIL best practices to manage changes incidents capacity and problems within the network environment.
- Work effectively in large data centers and sites handling highimpact network issues and providing timely resolutions.
