Control System Engineer
Location: England United Kingdom
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Control System Engineer you will join a team dedicated to designing building testing and implementing industrial control systems encompassing both hardware and software. Your responsibilities will include working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) software and Industrial Network solutions. You will also be tasked with configuring PC software for user interfaces and data processing as well as integrating software packages using standard protocols and customdeveloped scripts. This role may require travel to various office locations and client sites across the UK.

SUMMARY OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role you will:
Design develop program and test missioncritical solutions under the guidance of senior engineers.
Resolve hardware and software challenges as a key team member in assigned solution areas.
Design and configure cybersecure infrastructure and communications using industry standard protocols.
Understand and comply with operational procedures and both internal and external standards.
Supervise assembly and electrical testing of solution hardware including functional safety systems.
Install and commission solutions on customer sites.
Provide support and mentoring to junior engineers.
We are looking for someone with:
Experience and Knowledge
Proven experience in control system project delivery including design implementation testing and commissioning.
Basic understanding of electrical system drawings including GA s Wiring Schematics and Termination Diagrams.
Strong fundamental electrical knowledge and ability to interpret system drawings.
Solid grasp of general IT/OT technologies and development methodologies.
Awareness and understanding of Quality Management System procedures.
Knowledge of Windows Operating System configuration and lockdown.
Familiarity with network switch and firewall configuration and network management packages.
Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering Electrical Engineering Software Engineering or a similar qualification.
Experience in a structured project delivery lifecycle.
Proficiency with Siemens PLCs/HMIs and Drives.
Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in generating formal technical documentation for the full project lifecycle.
Competence in Microsoft Office products.
Ability to estimate time and costs for common tasks.
Eligibility for security clearance checks for access to client sites.
Strong ability to capture information analyze it and propose appropriate solutions.
Excellent verbal written and interactive communication skills.
Ability to work independently on customer premises including production locations.
Demonstrated commercial awareness and diligence.
