Role Summary: We are seeking a skilled 2nd Line Infrastructure Engineer to join our IT team in Warrington. This role offers the opportunity to work with a variety of IT systems and solutions providing indepth technical support and contributing to the security and efficiency of our IT infrastructure. Youll be a key player in maintaining our systems supporting users and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Support: Deliver advanced 2nd Line support for Mac/PC environments servers and cloud infrastructure handling a diverse range of technical issues with confidence.
- System Maintenance: Manage and maintain critical IT systems including server estates Active Directory and endpoint security ensuring all systems are secure reliable and compliant with industry standards.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and monitor security protocols to protect our systems from potential threats. Ensure compliance with software licensing and cyber security regulations.
- Project Involvement: Play a pivotal role in planning and executing IT projects from initial design to full rollout ensuring that all initiatives align with business objectives and best practices.
- Team Support: Mentor and support junior IT engineers sharing knowledge and troubleshooting skills to enhance team capabilities.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of IT systems procedures and configurations to ensure transparency and continuity within the team.
- OutofHours Support: Provide emergency support as needed to ensure 24/7 operational integrity.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a 2nd Line support role with a strong track record of resolving complex technical issues.
- Technical Proficiency: Solid understanding of Windows 10/11 Microsoft Server Operating Systems Active Directory DNS DHCP GPOs server hardware Microsoft HyperV and networking protocols.
- Communication: Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical users and confidently interact with clients and colleagues.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently with advanced problemsolving skills.
- Customer Service: A customerfocused approach ensuring that all users receive the highest level of support and service.
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with Cisco networking firewalls Microsoft SQL management and cloud platforms like Azure or AWS.
- Experience with security standards such as ISO27001 and knowledge of cybersecurity tools like CrowdStrike Falcon.
