Job Description
Our client is seeking a Network Engineer with strong Linux and networking knowledge along with scripting language experience to join their team in Munich Germany. The role is hybrid requiring both onsite and remote work. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in German (B2) and English (C1) with extensive knowledge of Linux systems networks and automation tools.

Requirements:
- 3 years of programming experience in at least one scripting language (Bash Perl or Python preferred).
- Strong Linux and networking knowledge with command line proficiency.
- Experience with Icinga Puppet Hiera Linux KVM Git Facter Ansible or MySQL is a plus.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools switches routers firewalls and load balancers.
- German (B2 level) and English (C1 level) proficiency required.
- Ability to work hybridly in Munich Germany.
Responsibilities:
- Plan design and maintain the companys intercontinental network across six global locations.
- Optimize the data center packet switching infrastructure for reliability low latency and throughput.
- Ensure network security using OpenBSD firewalls and connect to customers via leased lines and VPN.
- Extend and develop automated network configuration tools using 100% opensource software (e.g. Ansible Python).
- Participate in a rotating oncall system (about one week every five fully compensated).
- Assist with maintaining around 600 Linux servers (Debian 12 CentOS 8).
- Opportunity to broaden skills by learning new technologies such as Kubernetes and Puppet.
