Job Description

Midwest engineering firm with over 50 years in the business is seeking a Director of Landscape Architecture to join their Indianapolis office!


Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to the team (set strategic goals/objectives)
  • Mentor/train junior staff and support professional development opportunities
  • Foster a collaborative/creative work environment
  • Allocate all resources (personnel budget time) to ensure projects completed successfully
  • Conduct performance evaluations
  • Project management duties from start of project to finish
  • Ensure project meets quality standards
  • Serve as primary contact for clients
  • Coordinate tasks with interdisciplinary teams to seamlessly integrate landscape architectural elements in projects
  • Monitor project budgets schedules and scope changes
  • Identify/address potential problems
  • Lead development of innovative landscape designs
  • Ensure detailed plans drawings and specifications that meet industry and firm quality standards
  • Build/maintain client relationships including preparing proposals/presentations
  • Attend networking and industry events/conferences to cultivate new business
  • Develop strategic marketing initiatives/promotional materials through collaboration with marketing/business development


Requirements:

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Landscape Architecture
  • 8 years of progressive landscape architecture and project management experience
  • PLA or eligibility to obtain
  • Strong understanding of landscape architecture principles construction techniques plant materials and sustainable design practices
  • Experience successful managing complex projects from start to finish with client satisfaction
  • Proficient in industrystandard software tools (AutoCAD SketchUp Adobe Creative Suite and GIS)
  • Membership in professional organizations such as American Society of Landscape Architect (ASLA) preferred


Salary is commensurate with experience.
