Job Description

Bilingual Collections Officer (Mortgage)

Our client in the insurance industry is seeking a Bilingual Collections Officer with a strong background in mortgage collections for a 2year contract. This role offers the possibility of extension or conversion to a fulltime position depending on business needs. The position requires a highly skilled professional who is fluent in both French and English and has the ability to navigate complex financial situations with tact and professionalism.

Hourly salary of $24.57.
2year contract.
Fulltime position: 37.50 hours per week.
Work schedule from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Weekday work: 3 office days from Tuesday to Thursday.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the entire collection process for delinquent accounts across a range of products including loans lines of credit bank accounts and mortgages.
Manage and resolve complex delinquent accounts promptly ensuring accuracy in processing payments and adjustments.
Analyze accounts to assess clients ability to repay and negotiate payment arrangements within established guidelines.
Handle incoming correspondence determine necessary actions and maintain detailed account records.
Escalate legal or thirdparty notices when the bank s security is at risk and manage the balance between customer expectations and reputational risk.
Maintain strict client confidentiality and ensure compliance with bank policies and legal regulations.
Review and recommend solutions for escalated client complaints.

What you will need to succeed:

Bachelors degree (asset).
13 years of experience in collections or recoveries ideally with mortgage collections.
Strong analytical interpretive and problemsolving skills.
Ability to adapt quickly to changes in a fastpaced environment.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting mortgage/loan agreements and legal documents including bankruptcy notices.
Knowledge of laws rules and regulations governing collection functions in various provinces.
Bilingual in English and French (spoken and written).
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and SalesForce (preferred).
Comprehensive understanding of the client s product offerings and services (preferred).
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
Strong organizational abilities and adaptability to change.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
Team player with the ability to coach others and seek proactive solutions.
