Sr. Database Administrator

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in database administration roles with a focus on Microsoft SQL Server and Active Directory integration within a Windows Domain environment.
• Proficiency in administering databases on Windows Server operating systems and Active Directory environments.
• Strong understanding of database architecture design and optimization principles.
• Experience with database security standards and best practices including encryption auditing and compliance requirements.
• Knowledge of database backup and recovery strategies including full differential and transaction log backups.
• Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues and implement effective solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams and stakeholders.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fastpaced environment.
• Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent are highly desirable.

Job Description

• Install configure and maintain Microsoft SQL Server database instances across multiple environments including development testing and production.
• Design and implement database security policies and procedures including user authentication authorization and access controls in alignment with Active Directory standards.
• Manage database backups recovery and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime in the event of system failures or disasters.
• Monitor database performance identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and optimize query performance to meet business requirements.
• Collaborate with system administrators to integrate SQL Server with Active Directory for centralized authentication and access management.
• Develop and maintain documentation including installation guides configuration guides and troubleshooting procedures to support ongoing administration and support activities.
• Implement database upgrades patches and enhancements in coordination with software vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Provide technical support and guidance to developers analysts and endusers on databaserelated issues and best practices.
• Participate in capacity planning and resource forecasting to ensure adequate storage memory and processing resources for database systems.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies trends and best practices in database administration and make recommendations for adoption and integration into the organizations IT environment.
