Senior System Engineer

The organization is a worldwide leader in insurance technology and is currently searching for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Corporate IT team. This role will be responsible for building out and maintaining our future computing environments both in the cloud and in onpremise data centers. The role will have a heavy focus on automation and Infrastructure as Code. Enjoy working in a fastpaced highenergy growing environment working highly collaboratively and driving business results.

Essential Functions

Design and build cloud and onpremise infrastructure

Build configure and deploy new software packages

Create and maintain infrastructure documentation

Develop playbooks to guide all skill levels for incident response

Deploy onpremise and cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code

Perform RCA as part of incident response

Install upgrade and management of VMware

Develop and implement monitoring technologies such as DataDog to ensure optimal uptime metrics and ease troubleshooting of production issues.

Manage and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) in GCP and Azure using IaaS models.

Respond to escalated infrastructure service desk tickets

Perform upgrades and other maintenance during nonbusiness hours

Function as part of an oncall rotation for outofhours incidents (typically one week every two months)

Define and implement best practices for disaster recovery

Work closely with the information security organization to remediate any identified security vulnerabilities

Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate manager or management team.

Complete Organization Cloud projects and change requests according to schedule minimizing or eliminating human error downtime or financial concessions.

Reported issues are managed in a timely efficient manner with appropriate escalations internally across teams and functions.

Required Skills & Experience

High School diploma (required) BA or BS degree preferred

5 years of experience as a senior engineer in a mid to largescale enterprise

Strong organization skills and the ability to multitask

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
