The Operations Officer (Payments) will report to the Payments Manager and will be part of the payments team which is responsible for the companys day to day payments function.
Tasks
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and process daily payments including manual single batch urgent payments via SEPA SWIFT and thirdparty providers.
- Ensure all transactions meet internal/external rules cutoff times and product requirements.
- Act as the liaison with cards and lending teams correspondent banks and thirdparty payment providers for paymentrelated issues.
- Generate daily reports for reconciliation purposes and assist with invoicing and settlements from banks and payment providers.
- Handle daily reconciliations related to payments and ensure compliance with the banks payment policies.
- Assist in documenting operational procedures and contribute ideas for improving systems and processes.
- Perform ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Payments Manager.
Requirements
Skills:
- Ordinary/Advanced level qualifications or equivalent experience in a similar operational role within financial services.
- Proficiency in English with Spanish as an added advantage.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly MS Excel.
- Experience with correspondent banks SEPA SWIFT and payment service providers as well as general accounting or treasury experience is a plus.
