Job Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a hardworking and driven Litigation Attorney with at least 3 years of litigation experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to serve the public interest and advocate on behalf of consumers facing challenges with car manufacturers and dealers. If youre excited by the idea of engaging in aggressive discoverydriven litigation and thrive in a dynamic fastpaced environment with multiple stakeholders this role is for you!
What You ll Do:
- Advocate for California consumers in litigation against car manufacturers and dealerships.
- Take ownership of cases from inception through trial preparation including written discovery law & motion depositions and oral arguments.
- Work closely with senior attorneys and receive handson mentorship as you grow your litigation skills.
- Participate in higherstakes depositions trial preparation work and have the opportunity to secondchair trials as you advance.
- Develop litigation strategies tailored to each client s unique case navigating complex discovery and competing priorities.
Requirements
Written Discovery
- Drafting written discovery review responses and document productions participating in ediscovery review of documents
Law & Motion Work
- Drafting motions related to written discovery disputes responses to pleading challenges oppositions to Motions for Summary Adjudication and other motions in furtherance of our client s claims against car manufacturers and dealers
- Preparing for and participating in oral arguments in various courtrooms relating to discovery disputes pleading challenges case management conferences summary judgment motions and ex parte requests
Depositions
- Preparing clients and defending consumer client depositions
- Deposing percipient witnesses
- Deposing corporate representative defense witnesses
- Preparing expert witnesses and attending expert depositions
Vehicle Inspections
- Attending vehicle inspections with expert witnesse
Other Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility for timely reporting and billing for hours worked
- Assist in other tasks as assigned by the Partners
