Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our IT team. The Oracle DBA will be responsible for the performance integrity and security of our Oracle databases. This role includes database maintenance monitoring troubleshooting and ensuring the availability of the database systems. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Oracle database architecture strong problemsolving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the IT team to support business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Management: Install configure and maintain Oracle database instances ensuring high availability performance and reliability of the database systems.
  • Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance and identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies. Perform tuning and optimization to improve database performance and minimize downtime.
  • Backup and Recovery: Develop implement and manage backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability. Perform regular backups restorations and disaster recovery tests.
  • Security Management: Implement and manage database security protocols including user access controls encryption and vulnerability assessments. Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Data Migration: Plan and execute data migrations upgrades and patches with minimal disruption to business operations. Ensure data consistency and integrity throughout the process.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve databaserelated issues including system crashes performance problems and data . Provide timely support to address critical incidents.
  • Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline database management tasks including backups monitoring and performance tuning.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the development and IT operations teams to design implement and support database solutions that meet business requirements. Provide guidance on database best practices.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations processes and procedures. Ensure that all changes are documented and comply with change management policies.
  • Capacity Planning: Monitor database storage usage and plan for future capacity requirements. Ensure that databases are scalable and can handle increased workloads as the business grows.
  • Compliance: Ensure that the databases adhere to legal and regulatory requirements including data privacy laws and industryspecific regulations.
  • Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior database administrators and other IT staff.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field. Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) are preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator with handson experience in Oracle 12c/19c or later versions.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture SQL PL/SQL RMAN Data Guard ASM and Oracle RAC. Experience with database performance tuning backup and recovery and security management.
  • ProblemSolving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex database issues quickly and effectively.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing database configurations and processes.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and support the broader IT function.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Availability: Willingness to participate in oncall rotation and provide support during nonbusiness hours as needed.
