Clinical Support Specialist

They seek (3) Clinical Support Specialist responsible for implementing statewide policies and operational procedures for the Clinical Staffing Process ensuring compliance with Department and Children Family Services (DCFS) policies. This role involves monitoring program standards identifying performance issues and developing resolutions. The Specialist provides consultation and technical assistance to Clinical Staffing Process team members permanency workers supervisors and other stakeholders to improve the quality of the Clinical Staffing Process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Clinical Coordinator to facilitate the Clinical Staffing Process as a critical Clinical team member.
• Engage youth biological families caregivers and other key stakeholders ensuring they are equal participants.
• Ensure a safe environment for all meeting attendees encouraging open communication and sharing issues concerns and necessary interventions.
• Provide psychoeducation to youth families and caregivers as needed.
• Empower youth and families by giving them a voice during meetings decisionmaking process.
• Model best practices for Child and Family Team Meetings ensuring team members understand the process.
• Provide ongoing support for implementing action plans developed during meetings including assisting with placement decisions and communication between the Child and Family Team Placement Team and providers.
• Track and manage the matching/referral and preplacement interview processes for youth requiring new placements or higher levels of care.
• Ensure all participants feel heard and valued focusing the Clinical Staffing Process team on making decisions that prioritize the childs safety and wellbeing in the least restrictive manner possible.
• Colead group discussions ensuring all participants understand the meetings purpose and have an opportunity to contribute.
• Foster a supportive respectful environment that encourages communication and manages conflict effectively.
• Periodically summarize clarify and reframe discussions to ensure group alignment and assist in reaching quality decisions with safety and action plans in place.
• Maintain uptodate knowledge of relevant laws agency policies best practices and services monitor compliance and guide staff accordingly.
• Comanage the meeting process with the Clinical partner ensuring highquality decisionmaking and intervening when necessary.
• Strive for consensus in decisionmaking recognizing the authority of DCFS staff to make final decisions when consensus cannot be reached.
• Ensure the accurate documentation of decisions and action plans developed during meetings.
• Contribute to team meetings and quality assurance efforts to foster a collaborative environment and ensure the continuous improvement of the Clinical Staffing Process.

Qualifications:

• A masters Degree in a Human Servicesrelated field with at least two years of relevant experience is preferred.
• Strong computer skills and excellent written and verbal communication abilities are essential.
• Experience in healthcare or with Joint Commission safety standards is preferred.
