The role involves monitoring and maintaining AS400 systems to ensure optimal performance availability and capacity. Responsibilities include conducting routine system checks managing and prioritizing job queues and scheduling and monitoring batch jobs to ensure timely and accurate completion. The role also requires performing regular system backups managing media and tape libraries and ensuring data integrity. Troubleshooting hardware and software issues providing technical support to endusers and resolving connectivity and performance problems are key aspects of the role. The role also involves handling critical issues and escalations maintaining detailed records of system performance and generating regular reports. Additionally the role includes monitoring system security and access controls to protect data integrity.
