Overview

Key responsibilities

• Performing and interpreting ultrasound imaging studies ensuring accuracy and quality of diagnostic reports.
• Collaborating with other medical professionals to provide consultation and recommendations for the management of patients based on imaging findings.
• Maintaining and calibrating medical imaging equipment to ensure consistent and reliable performance.
• Assessing patient medical histories and conducting physical examinations to determine the appropriate ultrasound imaging protocols.
• Providing expert guidance and recommendations for treatment plans based on ultrasound findings and clinical evaluations.
• Participating in multidisciplinary medical conferences and discussions to contribute insights and expertise in ultrasound diagnostic imaging.
• Educating and counseling patients and their families regarding ultrasound procedures findings and potential treatment options.
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in diagnostic medical imaging procedures.
• Participating in continuous professional development activities to stay abreast of advancements in sonography and related medical technologies.
• Contributing to quality improvement initiatives by implementing best practices and participating in peer review processes.
• Supervising and training technical staff in ultrasound imaging techniques and protocols.
• Maintaining accurate and detailed records of ultrasound studies and patient information for documentation and reference purposes.
• Collaborating with healthcare administrators to optimize resource allocation and workflow efficiency in the ultrasound diagnostic department.
• Assisting in research projects and clinical studies related to diagnostic ultrasound imaging.
• Participating in community outreach and educational programs to raise awareness about the importance of diagnostic imaging in healthcare.

Required qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent degree in Radiology or related field.
• Valid state medical license and certification as a Sonologist or Diagnostic Radiologist.
• Proven experience as a Sonologist consultant demonstrating competence in diagnostic ultrasound imaging.
• Indepth knowledge of medical imaging equipment protocols and safety standards.
• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills in interpreting complex ultrasound images and clinical data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for effective patient consultations and collaboration with healthcare teams.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical standards in medical practice.
• Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced clinical environment and manage multiple responsibilities concurrently.
• Adherence to professional development and continuing medical education requirements.
• Familiarity with healthcare regulatory requirements and quality assurance principles.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in mentoring and supervising technical personnel.
