Job Description
Overview
Key responsibilities
- Translate written materials from English to French and vice versa
- Interpret spoken communication from English to French and vice versa
- Proofread and edit translated materials to ensure accuracy and quality
- Conduct research to ensure proper use of terminology and language in various contexts
- Provide linguistic and cultural consultation to internal teams
- Support localization and adaptation of content for Frenchspeaking markets
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure consistent communication in French
- Stay updated with language trends and industry best practices
- Assist in creating language style guides and glossaries
- Participate in languagerelated training and professional development
- Handle adhoc linguistic tasks as needed
- Communicate effectively with Frenchspeaking stakeholders and clients
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Ensure confidentiality and security of linguistic materials
- Utilize translation and interpretation tools effectively
Required qualifications
- Fluency in both written and spoken French and English
- Bachelors degree in French Linguistics Translation or related field
- Proven experience in translation interpretation and proofreading
- Strong understanding of French grammar syntax and punctuation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good knowledge of the cultural nuances of the French language
- Proficiency in translation and interpretation tools and software
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Attention to detail and accuracy in linguistic work
- Ability to adapt to different writing styles and tones
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Flexible and open to feedback and collaboration
- Certification in Translation or Interpretation is a plus
- Experience in a similar role in a multicultural or multilingual environment is an advantage
- Understanding of SEO and digital content localization is beneficial
