Power Electronics Engineer

Overview

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop power electronic circuits and systems for various applications such as motor drives renewable energy systems and power supplies
• Conduct simulations and analysis to optimize the performance and efficiency of power electronic systems
• Participate in the selection and validation of electronic components and materials for power electronics applications
• Create and review technical documentation including specifications design documents and test plans
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to integrate power electronics systems into larger product designs
• Troubleshoot and debug power electronics systems to identify and resolve performance issues
• Conduct design reviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance the quality and reliability of power electronics designs
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in power electronics technology and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Support product testing and validation activities to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members

Required qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Power Electronics or a related field; Masters degree preferred
• Proven experience in the design and development of power electronic circuits systems and components
• Strong proficiency in simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink LTSpice or PLECS for power electronics analysis
• Indepth knowledge of analog circuit design semiconductor devices and power semiconductor devices
• Experience in control systems design and implementation for power electronics applications
• Proficiency in embedded systems development and programming for power electronics control and monitoring
• Familiarity with thermal management and packaging considerations for power electronic systems
• Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical challenges
• Solid understanding of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) principles
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
• Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet established deadlines
• Experience with industry standards and regulations such as IEC UL and IEEE for power electronics design and testing
• Demonstrated track record of innovation and a passion for driving technological advancements in power electronics
