Head of Operations

We're a leading recruitment company in Sri Lanka and looking for a Head of Operations for a leading food and beverages company for their Research and Development unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all operations are efficient effective and aligned with the strategic goals of the unit. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership and management skills who can streamline processes manage resources and support the research team in achieving their objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Leadership: Oversee the daytoday operations of the Research Unit ensuring efficient workflow resource allocation and adherence to timelines.
• Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Director of Research to develop and implement operational strategies that align with the unit's research goals.
• Budget Management: Develop manage and monitor the operational budget ensuring costeffective use of resources.
• Team Management: Lead and mentor the operations team fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in research operations.
• Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure that all operational activities comply with institutional policies industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including researchers funding bodies and administrative departments to support the unit's objectives.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks to operations and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration Operations Management or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in operations management with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Experience in a research or academic environment is highly desirable.
