POSITION SUMMARY

The School Counselor will play a vital role in supporting our students academic social and emotional wellbeing. They will provide individual and group counseling sessions collaborate with teachers and staff and coordinate with outside agencies to ensure students receive the necessary support.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions with students to address a variety of issues including academic concerns social challenges and personal difficulties.
• Develop and implement counseling programs to promote the mental health and wellbeing of students.
• Collaborate with teachers administrators and other school staff to identify and address student needs.
• Provide crisis intervention services when necessary.
• Coordinate with outside agencies such as therapists psychiatrists and community organizations to ensure that students receive appropriate support.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Masters degree in counseling social work or a related field
• Possession of Pupil Services Specialist (PSS) credentials
• Experience working with students in a school setting preferably in special education
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds
• Passion for helping students reach their full potential
