Job Description

We are looking for Mechanical Design Engineer Aero Engine with 515 Yrs of Experience for our esteemed client for Bangalore Location
Key Skills: Stack Up Hand Calculations(Mandatory) Aero Engine (Mandatory) Stress Analysis (Mandatory) Bruhn Method Dolly Design Gas Turbine

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support the Design & Development of components and assemblies for large medium and small gas turbine aeroengines.
  • Perform stackup analysis and finalize the envelope for RFQ (Request for Quotation) and raw material release.
  • Handle specification selection for components and establish Freebody diagrams for structural analysis.
  • Conduct buckling calculations using the Bruhn method and perform bolt joint analysis for component connections.
  • Perform geometry checks and stress analysis for components including LCF (Low Cycle Fatigue) HCF (High Cycle Fatigue) creep and weld stress/life predictions particularly for flow path parts.
  • Conduct hand calculations for stress LCF and creep to ensure component integrity.
  • Design Dolly fixtures for assembly and test processes.
  • Work in a challenging work environment requiring precise and efficient engineering solutions.

  • Requirements

    • Stackup Analysis: Ability to perform detailed stackup calculations for component fit and tolerance.
    • Envelope Finalization: Expertise in finalizing component designs for RFQ and raw material release.
    • Specification Selection: Proficient in selecting appropriate specifications for aerospace components.
    • Freebody Diagram Establishment: Capable of defining free body diagrams for structural and mechanical analysis.
    • Buckling Calculation: Proficient with Bruhn method for structural buckling analysis.
    • Bolt Joint Analysis: Strong experience in analyzing bolt joints for mechanical integrity.
    • Geometry Check: Ability to ensure component geometry adheres to design specifications.
    • Stress Analysis: Proficient in analyzing LCF creep HCF and weld stress for aeroengine components.
    • Hand Calculations: Strong proficiency in stress LCF and creep calculations by hand.
    • Material Selection: Expertise in calculating and selecting materials based on alpha differences
    Desired Skills
    • Experience in the Design & Development of aero or marine engine components subassemblies and assemblies.
    • Strong capability in requirement analysis and concept generation for new designs.
    • Experience in conducting DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
    • Ability to perform detailed mechanical hand calculations and understand life cycle calculations for components.
    • Knowledge of engineering productivity including reengineering and identifying alternative materials.
    • Experience in improving service productivity and managing product performance throughout its lifecycle.
    • Proficiency in both static and dynamic analysis of components.
    • Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
    • Experience: 515 Years in design and development of gas turbine aeroengines.
    • Background: Must have prior experience working in aeroengine design.
    • Design Skills: Excellent in performing hand calculations for stress especially in gas turbine aeroengine applications.
