Job Description

Summary:

We are looking for a driven entry levelAP Specialist with a basic understanding of GAAP and financial principles and terms.You should be a motivated team player who can maintain efficiency and accuracy when multitasking. This role is a temporary position with the potential to transition to a permanent role.


Responsibilities:

  • Conductsfull cycle AP 3Way match occasional wire bank transfers
  • Comparing purchase orders prices terms of payment and other charges
  • Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as account maintenance recording entries and reconciling books of accounts
  • Ensuring bills and payroll are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures
  • Assists with reconciling vendor statements on a regular basis
  • Prepare 1099s at the end of the year
  • Analyze and track accounts payable amounts; prepares analysis of accounts as required
  • Assisting with research filing data entry and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records
  • File documents in accordance with standard departmental recordkeeping
  • Communicate with internal and external end users to respond to inquiries and resolve issues
  • Notify staff of any discrepancies
  • Obtain an understanding of Finance policies and procedures
  • Document or revise standard operating procedures
  • Contribute to special project assignments


Skills Required:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Business Administrationor similar field
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures
  • Ability to compile analyze and summarize financial information
  • Ability to plan and organize work in an efficient manner
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment such as a computer and printer
  • Ability to pay extreme attention to small details
  • Ability to use business operating software (e.g. MS Excel MS Outlook)
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Motivation and a strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible
  • Knowledge of Quickbooks and BPM (Bellwether) is a plus
