In this position you will report to the APAC General Counsel who will then report to the Deputy General Counsel (Global)
Advise on legal issues relating to contractual and commercial matters government and regulatory laws
Review the negotiation of commercial agreements with internal and external stakeholders
Manage customer vendor employmentrelated disputes or other disputes relating to the company
Advise management and HR on employment issues
Guiding and assisting business units on legal and regulatory requirements
Responding to adhoc inquiries including identifying analyzing and assessing risks to provide appropriate legal solutions
Working closely with other lawyers within the organization and coordinating legal matters handled by external counsel
Working with regional and global compliance and ethics teams to identify common areas of concern establish common standards and educate the company on regional best practices
Working with legal internal audit and HR as necessary to investigate allegations of unethical conduct or other violations of policies recommending appropriate disciplinary and/or corrective actions and ensuring such actions are implemented promptly
Any other duties as directed
Requirements

IT
Law degree from a recognized university in Japan
Qualified as a Japanese attorney and preferably with at least 8 years of legal experience either inhouse or at a law firm (not required)
Ability to read write and speak English and Japanese
Indepth knowledge of Japanese law and experience in the IT industry general corporate law related to contracts. Knowledge of employment and regulatory law is a plus
Strong leadership and ability to gain the trust of clients quickly
Mature and strong leadership skills with the ability to direct and influence colleagues
Practical and creative problem analysis and solving skills
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize work as necessary to meet business needs
Highly motivated and committed to client service including the ability to work as part of a small dedicated team of compliance officers
Responding to needs and questions from internal and external business clients
