Job Description

Job Summary:

As a Labor Compliance Specialist you will be responsible for ensuring that our construction projects adhere to all federal state and local labor laws and regulations. You will play a critical role in monitoring and enforcing compliance with wage and hour laws employment standards and safety regulations ensuring our workforce and subcontractors are aligned with industry standards and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance Monitoring: Oversee and monitor construction projects to ensure compliance with applicable labor laws including wage and hour regulations safety standards and employment laws.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all laborrelated activities including timekeeping payroll and certification requirements. Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory bodies.
  • Subcontractor Management: Ensure that subcontractors comply with all labor laws and company policies. Review subcontractor contracts for labor compliance requirements.
  • Employee Training: Develop and deliver training programs for employees and subcontractors on labor compliance safety standards and company policies.
  • Audit and Inspection: Conduct regular audits and site inspections to identify and address any compliance issues. Work with project managers to implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Dispute Resolution: Assist in resolving labor disputes and grievances ensuring that all issues are handled in accordance with legal and company standards.
  • Regulatory Updates: Stay current with changes in labor laws and regulations. Communicate updates and changes to management and ensure that the company is proactive in its compliance efforts.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with HR legal and project management teams to support labor compliance initiatives and promote a culture of compliance across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration Law or related field preferred.
  • Experience: 35 years of experience in labor compliance human resources or a related field preferably in the construction industry.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of federal state and local labor laws particularly those relevant to the construction industry.
  • Skills: Excellent organizational and communication skills attention to detail and the ability to work independently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with compliance management software.
  • Certifications: Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) or similar certifications are a plus.
