Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled travel Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our talented team. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at WTCP you will have the opportunity to contribute to patient care and improve their outcomes. • The location is in Fairbanks Alaska United States
• The working schedule for this role is 8 & 12 hours shifts; 40 hour work week
• The duration is for a contractor for 16 weeks
• The anticipated start for this role is two weeks after an accepted offer
• Holiday coverage floating and weekend rotation is required
• No oncall

Key Responsibilities:

• Plans and manages patient care according to each patients needs
• Interviews patients and records their medical history and physical condition
• Provides routine care for patients
• Reviews medical charts and observes patients health
  
• Assists physicians and registered nurses
  
• Takes and monitors patient vital signs
• Assists patients with eating dressing and bathing
• Administer medication
• Communicates changes in patient behavior or health status to nurses physicians and family members
• Maintains accurate patient records
• Collects specimen samples when needed
• Oversees Certified Nursing Assistants and training
• Prepares patients for transfers or discharge
• Assists in medical procedures
• Provides wound care and monitors catheters
  
• Manages emergency medical situations
  

Qualifications:

• Completion of state approved training program (generally in the form of a diploma certificate or associate degree)
  
• 2 or more years recent nursing experience
  
• 5 or or more years of nursing experience preferred
• Must have previous LPN travel experience
• Current state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) must have passed NCLEXPN exam
  
• BLS/CPR
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients families physicians and hospital staff
  
• Basic computer skills
• Professional friendly attitude
