Systems Administrator

Job Description:

• Role and Responsibilities:
  

• Systems Administration
  

• Install configure and maintain Windows and Linux based servers.
  

• Monitor server performance and proactively address any issues.
  

• Implement server security best practices including patching and hardening.
  

• Manage server backups and disaster recovery procedures.
  

• Application Administration:
  

• Deploy configure and troubleshoot various applications (web servers databases etc.) on both bare metal and virtualization platforms
  

• Deploy and configure applications through app containers like Docker/Kubernetes
  

• Ensure application availability and performance.
  

• Manage application updates and upgrades.
  

• Cloud Computing:
  

• Administer cloud resources (virtual machines storage networking) on AWSAzure and Google Cloud.
  

• Implement cloud security and best practices
  

• Manage cloudbased backups and disaster recovery.
  

• Scripting and Automation:
  

• Develop and maintain scripts (PowerShell Bash Python) to automate routine tasks.
  

• Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
  

• Utilize monitoring tools (e.g. OpmanagerNagiosprometheus/Grafana) to proactively identify and resolve system issues.
  

• Analyze logs and troubleshoot complex problems.
  

• Handles system escalations and support
  

• Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
  

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems and processes.
  

• Share knowledge and expertise with other team members.
  

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
  

• Experience:
  

• 3 years of experience in systems administration with a focus on Linux and Windows Virtualization and Containerization technologies.
  

• Must have working experience managing Linux and Windows servers OS on both bare metal and virtualized environment
  

• Must have working experience in deploying and managing application systems through containers like Docker (Kubernetes is a plus)
  

• Must have working experience on working with cloud infrastructure providers like AWS and Azure (Google Cloud is a Plus)
  

• Experience on deploying infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible a plus
  

• Practical knowledge with computer networking technologies like firewalls/switches/wifi systems
  

• Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g. Microsoft MCSA Red Hat RHCSA AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.
  

• Technical Skills:
  

• Strong knowledge of Linux (e.g. AWS Linux/RHEL Ubuntu/Debian) and Windows Server.
  

• Experience with cloud computing platforms primarily with AWS and Azure and Google Cloud).
  

• Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell Bash Python).
  

• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (Terraform Ansible) is a plus
  

• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g. Opmanager Prometheus and Grafana).
