Job Title: Controller / Director of Accounting

Job Description:
As the Controller at ARK Products you will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations of the company. Reporting directly to the President you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records implementing effective financial controls and providing strategic guidance to support the companys growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare monthly quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify trends risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decisionmaking by the executive team.
- Oversee the daytoday bookkeeping activities including accounts payable accounts receivable and outsourced payroll.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop and lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads and senior management.
- Develop rolling forecasts to support operational planning and resource allocation.
- Monitor actual financial performance against budget and forecast and provide recommendations for adjustments as needed.
Financial Controls and Compliance:
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process and address any audit findings.
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations and implement necessary updates to financial policies and procedures.
Cash Management:
- Manage cash flow projections and liquidity needs to support daily operations and strategic initiatives.
- Monitor banking activities and optimize cash balances to maximize returns and minimize costs.
- Oversee the administration of banking relationships including negotiation of credit facilities and other financing arrangements.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field; CPA designation preferred.
- 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Strong technical proficiency in financial reporting budgeting and financial analysis.
- Deep understanding of GAAP principles and financial controls with experience in implementing and maintaining internal control frameworks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with crossfunctional teams and senior leadership.
- Proven leadership ability with a track record of building and developing highperforming teams.
- Detailoriented with a focus on accuracy and timeliness in delivering financial information.
- Experience in CPG and manufacturing industries preferred.
- Quickbooks Online experience preferred.
