Quality Engineer
Cape Town Central R50 000 to R60 000 pm Medical CTC
To start 1 September 2024
Precision Engineering Machine Shop seeks a Quality Engineer to ensure effective product/process quality reliability delivered to internal and external customers ensure the accomplishment of the companys quality programme and targets consistently and continuously improve the quality of products and processes to fulfil company targets and goals. You will need to be experienced in ISO45001.
Experience:
Experience using highprecision measuring equipment / 3 years.
Experience in designing functional gauging and projection traces advantageous.
Experience within manufacturing / high volume machining industry 34 years.
Quality System and Quality Tools Knowledge i.e. 8D FMEA PPAP QCP APQP /3 years.
Experience in communicating confidently with customers and suppliers.
Job Description
Investigate quality deficiencies in planning production procurement and services and establish coordinated corrective actions.
Development of quality measurement planning for new products.
Identification of suitable gauging for new components.
Conduct capability studies.
Implementation of 5S improvement programmes.
Drive continuous improvement in areas of responsibility.
Investigate customer complaints with a structured problemsolving approach.
Manage calibration process.
Conduct Gemba walks with production staff.
Issue follow up and verify corrective actions (internal customer and supplier).
Implement Quality programmes with emphasis on prevention of quality failures rework and reduction in scrap.
Attend and coordinate relevant meetings to ensure quality matters are resolved within a given timeframe.
To conduct internal system audits as per internal audit plan and do ad hoc process audits where high nonconforming / scrap products do occur.
Require working in other areas of scope of work as stipulated by the QSHE Manager from time to time.
Authority to reject nonconforming items awaiting management decision on rework/scrap.
To liaise with suppliers and investigate all supplier related nonconformances.
To conduct audits on critical suppliers with the emphasis in reducing.
Maintenance and updating of quality management systems.
Writing of quality procedures in accordance with ISO9001.
Maintain allocated aspects of the QMS at all times.
Formal schooling/degree:
National Diploma Mechanical Engineering or Quality Engineering.
Ability to read and understand Mechanical drawings GD&T Specifications Capability studies Gauge R&R and SPC.
Must be familiar with and able to use Measuring Instruments and High precision electronic measuring equipment (smart scope 3D CMM etc).
Certified QC training qualified internal system auditor (ISO9001 and ISO19011).
