About the Role:
Our client a global leader in aviation services is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to oversee and manage their accounting and financial reporting functions. This is a key leadership position reporting directly to the CEO with responsibility for maintaining financial systems ensuring compliance with GAAP and leading an accounting team of 8 fulltime employees.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the accounting and financial reporting functions.
Ensure accurate and timely financial information.
Maintain and develop internal control procedures to protect company assets.
Prepare and review budgets financial projections and monthly financial statements.
Coordinate the preparation and filing of federal state and international tax returns with a thirdparty CPA firm.
Ensure compliance with new accounting standards and emerging guidance.
Coordinate external financial statement audits and prepare requested documents.
Develop and review accounting policies.
Manage the maintenance of fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
Resolve accounting and financial management issues in collaboration with team members.
Supervise train and evaluate the accounting department staff.
Review general ledger reconciliations prepared by staff accountants.
Monitor and report job status activity and job profitability.
Maintain relationships with bankers external accountants and insurance agents.
Oversee payroll processing and benefit administration with a thirdparty service provider.
Manage the company 401k plan.
Assist with special projects and assignments related to financial decisions.
Serve as an informational resource for federal and state examiners and internal and external auditors.
Ensure compliance with local state and federal regulations.
Provide financial management support for projects as requested by Senior Management.
Offer financial advice to the CEO and proactively prepare for future requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in finance accounting or economics required; master s degree or professional designation (e.g. CPA or CMA) highly preferred.
Minimum of ten years of accounting audit and financial experience with strong knowledge of accounting principles and corporate taxation.
Significant experience in a commercial environment preferably with some exposure to the aviation industry.
Demonstrated management and supervisory experience with strong interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong problemsolving abilities and conceptual thinking.
Experience with Quantum ERP preferred but not required.
