Azure Engineer

Our client a fresh produce distributor is seeking a skilled and experienced Azure Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing implementing and managing Azurebased solutions with a strong emphasis on virtual server setup and security controls. You will ensure that our cloud infrastructure is secure scalable and aligned with industry best practices. This project is 46 months in duration with the potential of an extension.

Virtual Server Setup:

• Design deploy and manage virtual machines (VMs) in Microsoft Azure
  
• Configure and optimize virtual servers for performance scalability and costefficiency
  
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery capabilities of virtual environments
  
  

Security Implementation:

• Implement and manage Azure Security Groups Network Security Groups (NSGs) and Azure Firewalls to protect virtual servers
  
• Configure and enforce security policies including rolebased access control (RBAC) and multifactor authentication (MFA)
  
• Monitor and respond to security alerts and vulnerabilities within the Azure environment
  
• Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to ensure compliance with security standards and regulations
  

• Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell Azure CLI or other tools to streamline the deployment and management of Azure resources
  
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates or Terraform
  

Monitoring & Optimization:

• Monitor Azure resources for performance and security utilizing tools like Azure Monitor Log Analytics and Azure Security Center
  
• Perform regular assessments of the cloud infrastructure to identify and mitigate risks
  
• Optimize the cost and performance of cloud resources by analyzing usage patterns and recommending adjustments
  

Collaboration & Documentation:

• Work closely with development operations and security teams to ensure seamless integration of Azure services
  
• Document infrastructure configurations processes and security controls for future reference and audits
  
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other team members
  

Requirements

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered
  
• 3 years of experience in Azure cloud engineering with a focus on virtual server setup and security
  
• Proven experience with Azure Virtual Machines Virtual Networks NSGs and Azure Firewalls
  
• Familiarity with security best practices and compliance requirements in cloud environments
  
• Proficient in PowerShell Azure CLI and scripting languages for automation
  
• Strong understanding of networking concepts including VPNs load balancers and DNS within Azure
  
• Experience with Azure Active Directory RBAC and identity management in the cloud
  
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and tools like ARM templates or Terraform
  
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert is preferred
  
• Securityrelated certifications (e.g. CISSP CCSP) are a plus
  
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment
