Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Construction Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to combine with your extensive knowledge and be responsible for bringing together a multidisciplined team of individuals whose qualifications and experience meet the expertise required to accomplish the assigned construction management tasks.
What Youll Be Doing:
Responsible for strategizing leading and overseeing all facets of programwide construction management for an attractions/ entertainmentbased projects.
Develop comprehensive challenging but attainable plans that support organizational and project objectives effectively allocating resources and time across design and construction phase.
Capable of directing PMC team to ensure that work in the field is delivered safely on schedule and with high quality that meets the requirements specified in the contract documents relevant codes and standards.
Directs the overall planning of construction activities to identify critical milestones and priorities.
Determines budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.
Ensures that the services of subcontractors and major construction equipment required by the project will be available at the appropriate time to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.
Establishes assignments for Construction Superintendents for various work areas of construction operations monitoring progress and recommending corrective action as necessary.
Conducts performance evaluations and recommends promotions and salary actions.
Manages the assignment of manpower materials and equipment to maximize efficiency maintain schedules and to meet budget goals.
Anticipates and resolves various problems such as changes in scope slippage of schedules and budget overruns.
Ensures that critical milestones are met for each phase of the project.
Ensures the use of sound construction practices to attain required quality control at the maximum efficiency and minimum cost.
Prepares periodic reports summarizing progress of construction activities for higher level management and clients including formal presentations.
Ensures effective implementation of all Company and client policies and procedures including labor relations policies.
Serves as the primary contact with client representatives subcontractors and government representatives for construction related activities. Maintains strong client and community relations including making presentations to local civic organizations.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills Youll Bring:
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or construction related field (or equivalent construction related work experience).
Minimum 15 years of direct experience in the construction of Buildings large concrete and steel frame structures through to finishes/fit out would be ideal.
Requires widely diversified knowledge of construction related processes and industry practices.
Demonstrated effective managerial capability on construction projects of comparable scope and complexity is also required as well as excellent written and oral communications skills.
What Desired Skills Youll Bring:
A track record with PMC and Main Contractors would be a suitable background.
Experience in multiple projects involving theme park development construction show and ride systems design or fabrication within the entertainment/theme park industry preferred.
