Responsibilities

The Construction Manager Mechanical Engineer shall have the following responsibilities:

• Quickly understand and master local state and federal requirements related to the project.
• Resolve unforeseen site and design conditions/problems proposing costeffective technical solutions.
• Conduct inspections and inventories of structures to identify deficiencies and assess their physical condition.

Qualifications

The Construction Manager Mechanical Engineer must have the following qualifications:

• Minimum 6 years of experience in mechanical engineering practice.
• Minimum 6 years of experience inspecting mechanical construction.
• Proficiency in communication language and software skills including using various programs for monitoring updating and producing work products.
• Experience reviewing design and construction plans against existing site conditions

Required Skills and Qualifications

The Construction Manager Mechanical Engineer is required to have the following skills and knowledge of the following:

• Familiarity with commercial hospital mechanical construction including underground installations medical gas systems domestic water systems chilled water systems and steam systems.
• Knowledge of low HVAC systems testing and balancing sheet metal duct systems and control systems.
• Understanding of mechanical systems in central utility plants (boilers chillers piping drainage etc.).
• Ability to provide cost estimates and takeoffs for mechanical contract modifications.
• Evaluate workmanship materials and equipment compliance with contract requirements and industry standards.
• Working knowledge of building safety and environmental codes.
• Familiarity with environmental civil safety architectural and structural fields.
• Understanding of governmental contracting procedures principles guidelines and public law.

Education and Licensure:

The Construction Manager Mechanical Engineer shall be a licensed professional with a degree in Mechanical Engineering with Specialization in HVAC or Plumbing from an accredited institution of higher learning. The individual shall have a minimum of six (6) years of experience in both design and construction.
