Operations Team Lead - Operations Manager

On behalf of Olam Agri MARPRO is looking for anOperations Manager who will oversee all aspects of the daily freight operation with a team mostly located inRotterdam. This role requires a proven leadershiptrack record the ability to understand the freight operation departments role in the value chain of aglobal commodity company and the importance of a high service level for internal and externalcustomers. You will report to Global Head of Freight Operations (Matrix to Global Head of Freight Trading Panamax)

MainResponsibilities:

• Lead the freight operations team for the defined business lines
• Revise design and execute the most effective and efficient organizational structure (roles competencies skill sets) to deliver bestinclass services in operations for the SBU.
• Guide and develop the team and the individual operators motivating and inspiring team members and fostering collaboration and accountability.
• Build and maintain strong relationships between internal business units and external customers.
• Develop the Global Operations Team together with the Operations Leadership team.
• Monitor understand and report daily and monthly PnL movements to all interested parties.
• Ensure optimal utilization of the fleet and monitor vessel performance.

Professional competencies

• Minimum 7 years of experience in senior or lead roles in bulk / freight or maritime operations
• Oceangoing and/or technical experience would be of benefit
• Proven leadership and excellent performance in previous and similar roles
• Fluent in English any other language appreciated.
