Chemical Lab Technician

Location: 440 College Park Drive Monroeville PA 15146

Type: 3 months contract on W2

Schedule:

• Training day shift hours
• Tuesday Saturday normal business hours

Summary:

Under direct supervision may perform a variety of routine laboratory operations. Full training on operating small reactors or kilo lab equipment. The individual should be comfortable around chemical compounds and able/willing to handle these according to standard operating procedures. Able to set up and turn off laboratory equipment safely. Good record keeping for processes may be needed.

This is an entrylevel position but some experience and knowledge in the handling of chemicals or performing chemical reactions in laboratory settings are a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensures that safety procedures required PPE and housekeeping are maintained.
• Conducts work in a manner that protects themselves coworkers and the environment.
• Follow established work procedures and operating procedures
• Safely operate reactors and complete batch assignments inside designated timeframe

Qualifications:

• High School graduate/equivalent or associate degree with a demonstrated technical and/or mechanical aptitude.
• Flexible to work shifts on Saturday due to operations running 24/7/365.
• Communicates between shifts as needed.
• Demonstrates advanced laboratory and criticalthinking skills.
• Collaborates with team members and has excellent interpersonal skills.
