The Metrology Engineer is responsible for applying measurement science mathematics physics and engineering principles to design and develop systems equipment and methods for calibrating various types of inspection measurement and test equipment (IM&TE). This role focuses on solving calibration challenges ensuring accuracy and precision and supporting the calibration laboratory and its personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop inspection methods techniques and measurement programs and determine equipment application and usage.
• Provide input on product and manufacturing process design based on measurement capabilities and equipment considerations.
• Establish tolerances for equipment based on statistical analysis of performance.
• Recommend calibration standards equipment and frequencies.
• Use statistical methods to analyze measurement standards and processes.
• Evaluate and update inspection measurement and calibration methods and procedures.
• Communicate measurement results and requirements with both internal and external customers.
• Oversee the acquisition installation qualification preventive maintenance and disposal of calibrated equipment.
• Maintain the ERP database for calibrated equipment by managing devices adjusting calibration frequencies and reviewing calibration extensions.
• Ensure proper documentation of services records and procedures.
• Perform audits to ensure Calibration Technicians compliance with work instructions device calibration status and calibration records in the ERP database(s).
• Facilitate and resolve Calibration Lab Reports (CLR) and Calibrationowned NonConformity Reports in collaboration with Quality Engineering and Operations supervisors.
• Evaluate suppliers for outsourced calibration of externallyowned equipment and internallyowned equipment not calibrated by company personnel.
• Identify opportunities for improvement within the Calibration department.
• Assist with customer audits as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Person.
• Bachelors Degree in a STEMrelated field.
• Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
• Understanding of the scientific principles behind metrology.
• Working knowledge of ISO 17025 ISO 10012 and ANSI Z540.1 & Z540.3 standards.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 AS9100 and ISO 13485 standards for quality control.
• Knowledge and experience with Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
• Proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Strong computer skills including comprehensive Microsoft Office skills.

Preferences:

• At least 3 years of professional experience in metrology including calibration.
• Ability to work flexible hours when needed.
• A strong record of attendance and reliability.
