Job Description

Summary

Are you a collaborative handson accounting professional who loves executing financial strategies Do you enjoy working with missionoriented nonprofits and managing the grant and award lifecycle If your answer is yes let s talk! Groundswell a valuescentered organization that is working to create systemslevel change is recruiting for a Finance Controller; Peoplr is excited to be leading this search.

In this role you will manage accounting operations and strategies for the organization and ensure all accounting tasks follow financial regulations and reporting requirements. You will also manage grants and federal funding making sure they are accounted for appropriately and adhere to any guidelines. This is a fulltime hybrid position offering a generous salary and yearend bonus opportunities and is located in Washington D.C.

Must Haves 3+ years of strategic financial management experience; expertise with general ledger functions and year-end close processes 3-5 years spent in accounting and grant management; understanding of federal, state, and philanthropy funding Experience managing single audits and reviewing financial statements Demonstrated expertise in community programs related to energy efficiency, renewable energy, environmental management, or similar Accounting software and DCAA compliance software experience Government contract accounting experience; knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards, CFR/FAR/DFARs Excellent communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills Demonstrated detail-orientation and project management capabilities including project planning, supervision, engagement of community members, and contract management Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field Nice-To-Haves Experience managing federal grants and awards, especially related to the Department of Energy and the US Department of Agriculture Familiarity with Sage and/or Unanet MBA Team leadership experience
