GenCare Resources and Kids PPEC (Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care) and Learning Center offers a stimulantingsocial and nurturing alternative healthcare choice to families and children with medically complex conditions to receive continual medical care in a nonresidential setting. Our centers offer services that meets ours stars physiologycal developmental nutrional and social needs these services provide a less restrictive cost effective alternative to effective hospitalization. PPEC Center are covered by Medicaid.

Tasks

Under the Director of Nursings guidance the RN staff nurse promotes and restores patients health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members providing physical and psychological support to patients friends and families; and supervising assigned team members. Assists in carrying out rehabilitation programming and activities for PPEC patients such as the development of social skills development of daily living skills

• Provides personal care services to patients including oral hygiene bathing and hair care as needed nail care diapering and dressing
• Provides bed care to patients repositioning ambulating and assisting with elimination needs. Moving to and from wheelchairs etc.
• Administers medications to patients orally intra or via feeding tube subcutaneously
• Monitors effects of medications records medication is given and patients reactions
• Observe and monitor the movement and activities of patients in the PPEC
• Assists/reviews MAR monthly and as needed to ensure accuracy
• Applicants must be able to travel.

Requirements

Registered Nurse with Pediatric Experience

Experience in a pediatric care setting preferably with medically complex patients

• Valid RN as issued by the Florida Board of Nursing
• BLS ACLS PALS Certifications required
• CPR and First Aid certifications required
• Must be able to pass a Level II background check
• Must be able to regularly lift and carry at least 50 lbs. safely
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional time management and attention to detail
• Prompt documentation and reporting skills
• Knowledge of Registered nursing techniques and methods
• Knowledge of medications and treatments used in patient care

To ensure that patients are receiving the best quality of care experience with the following conditions is REQUIRED:

• Tube feeding
• Tracheostomy
• Wound care
• Neurological disorders (seizures are common in our patients)
• Oxygen dependence
• IV therapy

• Premature birth postdischarge care
• Chronic lung disease care
• Feeding suck/swallow
• Insulindependent diabetes
• Failure to thrive poor weight gain
