Job Description

Buyer/Purchasing

Responsible for procuring products and services for Company Name while maintaining cost efficiency quality and timely delivery. The role involves evaluating suppliers negotiating contracts and ensuring that inventory levels meet organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Procurement and Sourcing:

    • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers vendors and service providers.
    • Negotiate pricing terms and contracts with suppliers.
    • Monitor market trends and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.
  2. Order Management:

    • Place purchase orders based on inventory requirements and forecasted demand.
    • Track and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery.
    • Resolve any issues related to orders including discrepancies and delays.
  3. Supplier Relationship Management:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
    • Assess supplier performance and address any performance issues.
    • Collaborate with suppliers to improve quality and efficiency.
  4. Inventory Control:

    • Monitor inventory levels to ensure they meet the companys operational needs.
    • Implement inventory control measures to minimize excess stock and shortages.
    • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
  5. Cost Management:

    • Analyze and report on purchasing data to identify costsaving opportunities.
    • Implement costsaving measures without compromising quality.
    • Maintain a balance between cost and quality of goods and services.
  6. Compliance and Documentation:

    • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
    • Maintain accurate records of purchases contracts and supplier communications.
    • Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities and financial performance.
  7. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Work closely with internal departments to understand their procurement needs.
    • Communicate effectively with suppliers management and other stakeholders.
    • Participate in crossfunctional teams to support company objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration Supply Chain Management or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational and timemanagement abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint) and purchasing software (e.g. SAP Oracle).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with occasional visits to supplier facilities.
  • May require occasional travel for supplier meetings or industry events.
