Job Description

Job Purpose:

Treasury Advisory Group is the customer facing unit of Treasury. The team is responsible for Treasury product offering across all the large customer segments of the Bank including CBG ECG CCM IFG etc.

Unit head Treasury Advisory Group would be responsible for leading a unit Treasury Relationship Managers (Taggers) in achieving what is described below.

The roles objective is:

  • The Unit heads would be responsible for the business performance of the entire unit under her coverage. Based on the size of the unit the UH may be given an individual budget.
  • Marketing of treasury products to existing & new clients both singly and jointly with the wholesale banking segments of the bank
  • Advising and servicing customers on managing their foreign exchange/interest rate risks
  • Increase market and wallet share of FX business for the customers in the geography covered
  • Build relationships with senior external and internal stakeholders
  • Day to Day management of the banks dealing systems
  • Ensure regulatory and internal requirements are always followed
  • Lead the team to achieve the Financial and the Nonfinancial objectives
  • Represent the Treasury department in all forums in the geography covered
  • Increase client conversions on the digital platforms for both trade and FX
  • Other activities required by supervisor

Job Responsibilities:

Strategy for TAG Business for the Team:

  • Implement the business strategy for treasury products for each segment under wholesale banking viz. Corporate Banking Emerging Corporates Capital and Commodity Markets Investment Banking Infrastructure Financing Group etc. factoring the dynamics of individual segments.
  • Growth in wallet share of cross border trade and FX business for the customers and segments covered.
  • Drive the customer derivative business of the Wholesale segment.

Financial Objective:

  • Set the Revenue and Volume target for the Business budgeting at a customer and segment level.
  • The process needs to have marketing plan customer wise periodic reviews including with other stake holders like business groups.
  • Focus on the ROE for the Bank
  • Increase Trade and FX wallet share of the Banks customer
  • Tap the clients FX potential fully current capital account and derivative transactions.

Relationship Management external and internal:

  • Direct coverage of customers at a senior (CFO) level.
  • Build relationships at all levels of the customers and leverage the relationships for enhanced business.
  • Manage the internal stake holders viz. Business groups Risk Operations Finance Audit Compliance other units of treasury. l
  • Collaborate to get support of business and credit when risk limits are needed

Internal Processes:

  • Evaluate and direct the internal processes related to the TAG business including the workflow.
  • Fine tune processes to enhance customer delight while ensuring regulatory compliance. This includes digitization of processes.
  • Drive trade automation
  • Ensure fulfillment of all transactions in the given TAT while adhering to the process and policies of the Bank.
  • Review work processes on a regular basis

People Management

  • Resource planning and management of capacity and productivity
  • Performance management
  • Communicating and driving organizational objectives
  • Career planning and learning and development

Organizational Objective:

  • Communicate and implement organizational objectives beyond the immediate job role and carry the organizational image at all interactions.

Risk management and Risk mitigation:

  • Risk management and Risk mitigation ideas for the corporate
  • Manage Banks credit and market risk when offering products to customers
  • Evaluate the Reputational and Legal Risk for the Bank on product offerings to customers in line with suitability and appropriateness policy.

Key Skills:

  • Detailed treasury product knowledge including pricing capabilities should have had hands on experience on this aspect. Adequate knowledge of markets with ability to interpret these data and use it for business opportunities
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Strong analytical and mathematical acumen data interpretation skills
  • Strong Relationship skills and sales management skills with a focus on customer delight
  • Team player with very strong planning time management and organization skills.
  • Result focused strong ability to execute and drive performance from teams.
  • Regulatory knowledge of all jurisdictions covered. Working knowledge of legal aspects.
  • Adequate knowledge of cross border trade and credit risk understanding of corporates
  • Grooming (critical as need to interact with extremely senior level/promoter level people in corporate)
  • Extremely high levels of integrity

Educational Qualifications:

  • Graduation: Any
  • Postgraduate. MBA qualifications in Finance/CA
