AWS Engineer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated AWS Engineer to join our IT team. In this role you will be responsible for designing implementing and maintaining our cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud computing specifically with AWS and experience in deploying managing and optimizing cloudbased applications and services.

Key Responsibilities:

• AWS Infrastructure Management:
  • Design deploy and maintain scalable reliable and secure AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Manage and optimize AWS resources including EC2 S3 RDS Lambda VPC and other AWS services.
  • Implement and manage automation scripts using AWS CloudFormation Terraform or similar tools.
• Cloud Security & Compliance:
  • Ensure cloud infrastructure security by implementing best practices and security controls in line with industry standards.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities in the AWS environment.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and company policies.
• Performance Monitoring & Optimization:
  • Monitor the performance of AWS services and applications identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal performance.
  • Implement autoscaling and load balancing strategies to handle varying workloads efficiently.
  • Conduct regular performance tuning and cost optimization of AWS resources.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery:
  • Design and implement robust backup and disaster recovery solutions for AWShosted applications and data.
  • Ensure data integrity and availability by managing snapshots backups and restore procedures.
• DevOps & CI/CD:
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate AWS services into the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Implement and manage automated deployment processes using AWS tools such as CodePipeline CodeDeploy and CodeBuild.
  • Assist in the continuous integration and delivery of cloudbased applications.
• Documentation & Support:
  • Document cloud architecture processes and configurations for easy reference and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide support for AWSrelated issues and assist with troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Stay current with AWS updates trends and best practices providing recommendations for improvements.

Qualifications:

• Education & Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 35 years of experience in cloud engineering with a focus on AWS.
  • AWS certification(s) such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator preferred.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong experience with AWS services such as EC2 S3 RDS Lambda VPC IAM CloudWatch and CloudFormation.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python Bash or similar languages.
  • Experience with infrastructureascode tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools including CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g. Git).
• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent problemsolving and troubleshooting skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities with the capacity to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fastpaced environment.
