Azure Engineer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Engineer to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing deploying and managing our cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure. This role requires expertise in Azure services cloud architecture and DevOps practices. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Azures ecosystem and the ability to optimize and maintain cloudbased applications and services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Azure Infrastructure Management:
  • Design deploy and maintain scalable reliable and secure Azure cloud infrastructure.
  • Manage and optimize Azure resources including Virtual Machines Azure SQL Azure Functions Azure Storage and Azure Networking.
  • Automate infrastructure deployments using Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates Terraform or similar tools.
• Cloud Security & Compliance:
  • Implement and enforce security best practices within the Azure environment including identity and access management encryption and network security.
  • Monitor for security threats and vulnerabilities responding to incidents as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations as well as company policies.
• Performance Monitoring & Optimization:
  • Monitor Azure services and applications for performance availability and costefficiency.
  • Implement autoscaling and load balancing strategies to efficiently handle varying workloads.
  • Perform regular performance tuning and cost optimization for Azure resources.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery:
  • Design and implement backup and disaster recovery solutions for Azurehosted data and applications.
  • Ensure data integrity and availability by managing backups snapshots and restore procedures.
• DevOps & CI/CD:
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate Azure services into the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Implement and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes using Azure DevOps GitHub Actions or similar tools.
  • Assist in automating the deployment and management of cloudbased applications.
• Documentation & Support:
  • Document Azure architecture processes and configurations for easy reference and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide support for Azurerelated issues and assist with troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Stay up to date with Azure updates trends and best practices providing recommendations for improvements.

Qualifications:

• Education & Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 35 years of experience in cloud engineering with a focus on Azure.
  • Azure certification(s) such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator preferred.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong experience with Azure services such as Azure Virtual Machines Azure SQL Database Azure Functions Azure Networking Azure AD and Azure Monitor.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell Bash or similar languages.
  • Experience with infrastructureascode tools like ARM templates or Terraform.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools including CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g. Git).
• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent problemsolving and troubleshooting skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities with the capacity to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fastpaced environment.
