Windows Engineer

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detailoriented Windows Engineer to join our IT team. In this role you will be responsible for managing supporting and optimizing our Windowsbased systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Windows Server environments strong troubleshooting skills and experience with system automation and security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Windows Server Management:
  • Install configure and maintain Windows Servers including Active Directory DNS DHCP and Group Policy.
  • Manage and maintain file servers application servers and other Windowsbased systems.
  • Perform regular system updates patch management and security configurations.
• System Optimization & Troubleshooting:
  • Monitor system performance identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal operation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Windows Servers and associated services.
  • Implement best practices for performance tuning system reliability and high availability.
• Security & Compliance:
  • Ensure the security of Windowsbased systems by implementing appropriate security measures including access controls firewalls and antivirus solutions.
  • Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments addressing any identified risks.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery:
  • Design implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions for Windowsbased systems.
  • Ensure data integrity and availability by managing backups restores and failover procedures.
• Automation & Scripting:
  • Develop and implement automation scripts using PowerShell or similar tools to streamline system management tasks.
  • Automate routine tasks such as patch deployment account management and system monitoring.
• Collaboration & Support:
  • Work closely with other IT teams to support crossfunctional projects and initiatives.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to IT staff and endusers resolving escalated issues promptly.
  • Document system configurations procedures and troubleshooting guides.
• Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay current with emerging technologies trends and best practices related to Windows Server environments.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to system infrastructure and processes.

Qualifications:

• Education & Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 35 years of experience managing and supporting Windows Server environments.
  • Microsoft certification(s) such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or similar is preferred.
• Technical Skills:
  • Extensive experience with Windows Server operating systems including Active Directory DNS DHCP and Group Policy.
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies such as HyperV or VMware.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and management tasks.
  • Experience with Windowsbased networking and security protocols.
  • Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery solutions for Windows environments.
• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent problemsolving and troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities with the capacity to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with a focus on detail and accuracy.
