Infrastructure Engineer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Infrastructure Engineer to join our IT team. The Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for designing deploying and maintaining the organizations IT infrastructure ensuring its reliability security and scalability. This role requires a strong understanding of network server and storage technologies as well as experience in cloud and virtualization environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure Design & Implementation:
  • Design deploy and maintain onpremises and cloudbased infrastructure including servers storage and networking components.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to assess infrastructure needs and implement scalable solutions.
  • Manage and optimize virtualization platforms such as VMware HyperV or KVM.
• Network Management:
  • Configure monitor and maintain network infrastructure including routers switches firewalls and load balancers.
  • Ensure network security through the implementation of firewalls VPNs and other security measures.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot any issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Server & Storage Management:
  • Install configure and manage Windows and Linux servers ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Manage storage solutions including SAN NAS and cloudbased storage ensuring data availability and integrity.
  • Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions including replication and failover strategies.
• Cloud & Virtualization:
  • Manage and optimize cloud environments (AWS Azure or Google Cloud) including virtual machines storage and networking.
  • Implement and manage containerization solutions using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Ensure cloud infrastructure is secure scalable and costefficient.
• Security & Compliance:
  • Implement and enforce security best practices across the infrastructure including patch management access controls and encryption.
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments addressing any identified risks.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations including GDPR HIPAA and others as applicable.
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
  • Implement and manage monitoring tools to ensure the health and performance of infrastructure components.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues minimizing downtime and impact on the business.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for infrastructure configurations procedures and troubleshooting guides.
• Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve the infrastructure.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency performance and reliability.

Qualifications:

• Education & Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 35 years of experience in infrastructure engineering systems administration or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator AWS Certified Solutions Architect VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or similar are preferred.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong experience with network infrastructure including routers switches firewalls and load balancers.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux server administration.
  • Experience with storage technologies including SAN NAS and cloud storage.
  • Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS Azure Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies (VMware HyperV KVM).
  • Experience with automation and scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell Python) is a plus.
• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent problemsolving and troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to infrastructure management.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities with the capacity to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with a focus on detail and accuracy.
