As a Group Accountant, you will assist in coordinating the month-end process and all general accounting activities for the designated companies. You will assist in the overall group accounting process of the Dubizzle Group. You will get involved with the accounting of various of the group's subsidiaries. You will also perform account reconciliations, financial analysis, and statutory reporting.
Requirements
- Take full ownership and oversee the entirety of the entity's accounting and financial reporting process to ensure accuracy and compliance;
- Act as a finance point of contact for thebusiness in the country;
- Execute month-end journals, general ledger accounting, and reconciliations in accordance with established policies and procedures;
- Prepare statutory financial statements and disclosures based on IFRS;
- Prepare monthly management reporting packs with analyses on Balance sheets, Profit and Loss, and Cash flows;
- Generate supporting work papers and schedules for various accounting treatments as per IFRS requirements;
- Coordinate with auditors during statutory audits;
- Supervise day-to-day accounting processes of assigned entities, maintaining proper books of accounts for effective financial control;
- Assist in Accounts Payable processes, cash and bank reporting, VAT returns, Group consolidation, audits, and other reporting obligations;
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of financial and accounting operations, considering automation and process enhancement;
- Collaborate closely with other Finance team members to provide support to business colleagues;
- Provide assistance to the Group reporting team on accounting and reporting matters;
- Collaborate and work closely with other Finance team members, including Business Partners and Systems Accountants, to support business colleagues;
- Address ad-hoc requests relevant to the role promptly and efficiently
Qualifications:
Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent);
Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years accounting and financial reporting experience in a Group account/finance role
or
- Minimum of 3 years experience working in reputable audit firms.
Knowledge:
- Detailed understanding and application of IFRS (including newly introduced standards);
- Expert in using MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint;
- Knowledge of using Sage ERP (desirable);
- Knowledge of using consolidation software OneStream (desirable);
- Knowledge of basic VAT concepts (desirable)
