What you will be doing:

• Conceptualize model analyze and optimize complex electrooptical systems especially spectral imagers
• Translate system/application requirements into imager specifications
• Design develop calibrate and test optical and electrooptical systems
• Work with and lead efforts of a team of optical mechanical electronic and software engineers
• Lead integration and testing efforts of sensor systems and subassemblies
• Perform systems architecture studies and sensor trades
• Support new business in concept development and proposals
• Serve as a key contributor to programs as a technical expert and/or as Lead EO Systems Engineer

Experience you will need:

• U.S. Citizenship required
• BS in electrical engineering / optics / applied physics with 8 years of experience MS in a similar field with 5 years of experience; PhD in a similar field with 3 years of industrial work experience
• Experience in the aerospace/defense industry is desired
• Working knowledge of UV through LWIR optical systems camera technology and design principles/tradeoffs
• Working knowledge in modeling & simulation software such as Matlab FRED or equivalent
• Working knowledge of spectral polarimetric spatial and temporal image processing
• Knowledge of atmospheric effects and modeling using codes such as Modtran
• Handson lab experience in calibration radiometric and image quality measurements
• Excellent oral written and presentation skills for interfacing with senior management program management customers and other engineers
• Experience with Zemax/CodeV ModTran and/or NVtherm/SSCam/NVIPM is desirable
• Ability to program in C or C# is desirable
